The Age of Wisdom.

Hello there All,

Can I just begin by saying that it is a privilege for me to be writing of my experiences for you all to read, I sincerely hope you all enjoy this experience. Where can I begin? Well as always it was a good, productive night at the good ol' work. I have learnt many things tonight that have profoundly changed my life and how I view it. There were 2 highlights for tonight here they are told in a kind of strange hindsight.

Cue scene of peaceful recollection ... ... ...

First Recollection:

Another Busy Tuesday night off course, it was very busy. an old lady came in tonight, it was extremely busy, and asked, "Do you sell milk?", I said "Madam, unfortunately we do not have any milk because of a delivery error, and the fact that the limited stock we had has sold out for today" and then she said "thank you" I then said, "Try the nearby Supermarket, they would have it, its a block away" and "Thank you very much I will go there" so the old woman went with her walker.

-5 minutes later-

There was another long queue, and she returned again, now this old lady has such an aged physique that she walks 1 cm at a time, no joke, more a realistic observation, and sounds like she is on her last breath.. Anyway, she came back and said "Do you sell milk?" and I said, "Madam you were here 5 minutes ago and you asked the same question, I recommend going to the safeway..." and then she said "Thank you very much I will go there" and she started her journey again, moving 1cm at a time toward the liquor store...mistaking it for the safeway...

-5 minutes later-

She comes again...there is a queue of people, she comes up to the counter, "Hey there Do you sell milk?" and feeling a bit zany from all the deja vu I said, "Well Madam, thank you for your hat trick of appearances, but once again I must say we do not have any milk today!", Rhyming like one of those wacky characters from a Dr. Suess book, "Please go to the Safeway, which is the kingdom of milk and I guarantee that you shall find your nirvana"

and she then went, 1 cm at a time, BACK to the damn liquor store thinking that IT was the supermarket asking if they sold milk and the staff kept having her come back to the Express, but after her third time going there they finally directed her to the right direction. HURRAH for everything.

so that was the story of the night. Everytime this lady moved she made a noise where she would exhale her breath...kind of like "EHHHHHHHHH"

"kinda like so the conversation was...EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH "Do you milk?" EHHHHHHHHHHHHH, EHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, EHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

I must say that despite all that happened, my never-ending respect for the woman would not go away, here was a lady that reminded me of Sarah Connor. She seemed to have this iron will to save the world and buy milk at the same time, appearing 3 times if she had to in order to ensure that we were consistent with our message.

End of Recollection...

Now before any folks think this is one of those anti-old folks pieces where we all poke fun at an elderly person let me say that throughout this entire episode it was totally fun responding the same way to the same question. Kinda like a groundhog day situation.

But anyway, let me just say that many thanks for reading this piece, I have had much joy writing it. It feels liberating that these words can come out and I could try and share my stories to all those that seek it. But always remember everyone, the profound ideas of those who are great never started out great, they began and they matured over time to capture the hearts and minds of society. Look at Hampton the Hamster for a good example.

Many thanks again for your attention, and give my regards to the ghetto.

Yours Sincerely,

Altug Kayi
